Reedham Update 18th March

Winter Finals Day (Saturday March 24th)
The Winter Finals Day is next Saturday so do come and support the players who are involved on the day. Hopefully the weather will be behave itself on the day and some good tennis will be on display! There are four Senior finals up for grabs and play is likely to start at 1300hrs with matches on Courts 6 & 7 with a second set of finals starting at 1430hrs. There will be courts available for social tennis. There are no Ross tournaments in this year’s programme. I am going to suggest we start at 1 pm with 2  matches on court 6 and 7, followed by the 2nd 2 finals at 2.30 ish. I will speak to Steve C about the order. There will therefore be courts if people also want to play social tennis or they can watch. Tasty tea and cake will be available during the afternoon.
RPSC Wimbledon Ticket Draw (Sunday 22 April 2018)
The Wimbledon Ballot will be drawn at 12 noon on Sunday 22 April in the clubhouse. The amount of tickets the club has received as a result of RPSC members opting into the Ballot should be known in the next few days and there may be further announcements before the Ticket Draw in April.
Postponed Quiz Night (rescheduled to Friday 6th April)
Unfortunately the Quiz Night which was planned for Saturday 17th March was unable to take place and numbers were too few to hold the event tonight so the Quiz Night will instead be moved forward to Friday 6thApril. This is a date convenient to our Quiz masters and their scoring assistant Alice and will be a nice way to start our new Summer Season with a Friday social event. Anyone who has already paid in advance for tickets can either take a refund or hold their tickets for the new date. Hopefully the new rescheduled date will attract our usual healthy numbers and there will be reminders in the Update! Please put the new date in your diary, reorganise your teams and we look forward to seeing many of you at the event.
Ball Machine
Just a note to say the ball machine is now up and running at the club. It’s a great way to practice and improve your game as we start getting into Spring (eventually!). The cost is only £1 to use the ball machine for 30 minutes.
Have a great week,
Roger.
