Darts Night’. The clubhouse was buzzing, full of expectation as members
were randomly placed into one of our 11 teams ably captained by: Doug
(Germany); Barny (Holland); Chris (Northern Ireland); Ali (Norway); Stevie
K. (Spain); Nigel T. (Sweden); Graham G. (England) Steve P. (Australia) Zac
(Wales) Edward S. (Greece) and Kieran S. (Canada); all overseen by our event
organiser Paul Gavin. A huge thank you to them all for their guidance and
Now that Paul has all his flags made, there will be a repeat of this popular
event next year.
Thanks also go to those members who assisted Nigel and Leanne on the bar
when they were playing and to those who helped set up and clear away. My
personal thanks to Geoff and Graham who came back to put all the chairs and
tables back in the clubhouse and hoovered!
|Winter Team ShieldThis competition is building up to a tremendous climax. Last Friday evening Team White beat Team Edwards (the leaders) by 11-4. This means that Teams Edwards, White and Peachey are all on 7 points, with Team Trotter currently also-rans. TeamPointsEdwards7Peachy 7White7Trotter3Therefore, the outcome of next Friday’s SuperMatch, when all 4 teams play, will determine which two teams contest the Grand Final on 15th March. Let’s hope the weather is kind to us on both dates.Team ResultsThe Ladies 4th team beat Purley 4-0 with first pair, Gill Love and Eleanor Rae, putting in a good performance matched by the second pair, Ann Jones and Sue Rae, taking their final game on a tiebreak! |
The Ladies 2nd team lost 3-1, but are hopeful to have done enough to keep their league position for next year!
Reedham Table Tennis ran out 7-3 winners in their match last Monday leaving them second with a game in hand.
